You may remember I said I would be shutting down this blog once my website is up and running. I'm happy to tell you that's no longer the case. My website (soon to be unveiled) looks absolutely awesome and I know you're all going to love it! I LOVE it!! Yvonne Parks is the best web designer...take note! It will be up in a few days, so keep checking back here. If you're on my mailing list, you'll get an email from me when it's ready for public viewing. My blog will remain the same, however, it will probably be undergoing a facelift so that it compliments my website. Wow, I feel like a real writer now! Speaking of which, I have to get back to printing out stuff for that proposal, which is going in the mail this afternoon. Talk about 'on a wing and prayer...' okay, I'm stopping now before the nerves come back. You'd think I'd be used to this by now...
Wow. It's been an interesting couple of weeks with my writing. After getting out my full manuscript of Just A Little Walk, I set to work on my Vietnam research. But I'm also thinking, what am I going to do with Hidden in the Heart? What if I don't get an agent, where will I send it? I'd been trying to find out for some time whether Steeple Hill's Women's Fiction line is open to unpublished authors. Somebody was looking into it for me but I hadn't heard anything. So I email her to see whether she'd heard anything. Within two seconds, literally, of doing that, an email comes through the ACFW loop from on of the Steeple Hill/Harlequin editors saying if anybody has any questions about any of their lines, feel free to email her. Okay... I did. She emailed me back and send to send her a proposal.
All that in ten minutes.
I have my own opinion of the chain of events here, but you can draw your own conclusions. All I'll say is God is without a doubt using the Internet. I don't believe in coincidences.
Please pray! I'd love to write for Steeple Hill!! Actually, I'd love to write for anybody...lol...but Steeple Hill would be awesome!
Just going over dates in my mind. In January, it will be a year since we bought the lot of land. A year. Is that crazy or what? We have plans, but no planning permission, and no new house. Excuse me. You might want to block your ears whilst I scream. Do other countries work this slowly, or are we just blessed to be surrounded by incredibly inept people??
I had been under the impression that this Christmas would be the last one in our present home. Time to revise that plan.
Well, I shall share some good news instead. A got a full manuscript request for Just A Little Walk. Which in non-writer language means, an editor from a publishing house like the first three chapters enough to want to read the whole book, which means there is a SLIM chance that I might actually have this book published in print form. MIGHT and SLIM CHANCE being the operative words here. If you never expect anything, you're never disappointed, and always surprised.

In writing my new book, I'm having to do a lot of research. Admittedly, I don't write Historicals, and don't read a whole lot of them. However, I have to say I'm loving this! Researching the Sixties is a blast! I have received a ton of great inforamation from the ACFW group. Visions of shag carpets, bell bottoms, lava lamps and avacado green appliances are dancing in my head! And don't forget the red Formica countertops and metal chairs with plastic cushions...
